Recorded, not watched
Almost all monitoring is retrospective. The footage exists, and it is reviewed after somebody reports that something happened. The overnight check happens, and it happens on a schedule rather than when a person's condition changes.
The gap is not equipment. Most organisations already own the cameras, and most care settings already have staff walking the corridor. The gap is that sustained attention on a screen does not hold, and no amount of diligence fixes that. It is a property of people, not of staffing levels.
So the question is not whether to watch more. It is what should be allowed to interrupt somebody, and everything else staying quiet.

Every alert that turns out to be nothing costs a little of the credibility of the next one. Systems like these are not judged on what they can detect; they are judged on whether the people receiving the alerts still trust them in month six.
Common questions
Do we need new cameras?
Usually not. Video analytics runs against the streams your existing cameras already produce. Where a camera is positioned badly for the specific detection you want, we will say so during scoping rather than after installation.
Where does the data go?
It stays onshore. Ericom supplies, integrates and runs these systems in Australia, which matters more here than in most categories because the data is footage of people and, in care settings, information about their bodies.
Is this surveillance?
It depends entirely on what you configure it to raise, and that is a decision we make with you in writing rather than a default. The vital signs sensing is deliberately contactless and produces no image at all, because in a bedroom a camera is the wrong instrument regardless of what it would detect.
